Walking along The Edges . . .

gives lots of opprortunities . . .

for photos

The various rock formations . . .

are impressive . . .

but can't always be fully appreciated

The group pauses to take in the views . . .

and while I don't usually like back views of people . . .

it is sometimes appropriate

It's difficult to identify . . .

the change from Froggat Edge . . .

to Curbar Edge in the photos (note the face)

Detouring to The Eagle Stone . . .

identifies our exact position at the end of Baslow Edge

Wellington's Monument, on Baslow Edge, is dedicated to the Duke of Wellington as a celebration of his victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815

Nelson's Monument a 3-metre high gritstone column erected in 1810 . .

stands on Birchen Edge 1,000 feet above sea level

The Hunting Tower in the grounds of . . .

Chatsworth House . . .

where the fountain . . .

could just be seen

Leaving Chatsworth House behind . . .

we spotted deer in the distance

The specially commissioned village of Edensor was built to replace the old village which spoiled the 6th Duke of Devonshire's view of the estate from Chatsworth. The graceful spire of the church of St Peter dominates the village skyline
